I’m very grateful that I get to wake up every morning and do what I love. The most fulfilling part of real estate is being able to make an impact on someone’s life. Whether it’s finding a young couple their dream home where they can start their family, helping a first time home buyer get their first downtown condo, or helping empty nesters downsize in style. It’s so energizing to be a part of their journey.
While my kids were growing up, I spent a lot of time diving into the real estate section of the newspaper while they watched cartoons on Saturday mornings. I had always been curious about real estate, but I never thought that it would be a possible option with 3 kids in school and running around to hockey and soccer games. I wasn’t quite ready to take the leap.
2014
Becoming an Empty Nester
In 2014, my wife and I were empty nesters and took a big step, we moved from Strathroy to downtown London to the Renaissance II condo building. Even though I was quite hesitant to leave the garage and the yard behind it was the change we needed to help us transition into being empty nesters. We’ve made many great friends, and really enjoy the condo lifestyle.
2016
Your Condo Butler
In 2016 we started our own business, Your Condo Butler; we worked on it on evenings and weekends. We created services for the Renaissance II community, services such as balcony cleaning, move in, move out packages - and more; It was a hit! We felt really supported by the community, the business grew faster than we could have imagined.
In January 2018 I took the leap and left my corporate job to run the business full time. Ten months later my wife also jumped in and left her corporate job. This was another step forward - a big one - but we felt supported and ready to take this business to the next level. We continued to explore offering new services, and listened for feedback and ideas from our customers to make even more of an impact on their lives.
2020
Your Butler Realty
I started to notice a pattern in conversations with my customers; we would end up discussing real estate; either they wanted a different condo or they had plans to move on. I found myself referring them to real estate agents. This was a sign for me to explore real estate, I was ready for it this time and I could see how the fit made sense alongside Your Condo Butler.
In September 2018 I signed up for my first real estate course. I learned a ton, and continued to work through the courses on nights and weekends. In January 2020, I proudly achieved my real estate license.
As a business owner, I’ve learned the importance of always learning, and growing and trusting when you know it’s time to take the next step and evolve. Having the right support network can make a huge difference. I know the decision to buy or sell your next place comes with a lot of excitement and some unknowns. It would be my pleasure to, lead and support you through this experience.
